March 2013 Spring Vacation: Blog post Day I
I'm pretty sure I blogged a post on March third, before I left for spring vacation about my trip. But I didn't really go into depth, so since I this is my All out Spring Vacation March 2013 tell-all I guess I shall start from the beginning.....
Author's note: I don't wanna sound very repetitive and annoying (pretty sure I am -.- ) but I wanna put a huge DISCLAIMER that this is my blog, my open journal open for everyone to read. Or sometimes I call it my therapist but I am in no means bragging or showing off simply sharing a wonderful family filled vacation with you all :) enjoy!
Sunday, March 3rd 2013 ~ Day One: Departing YYC
Our flight was so early in the morning I think at 8 but we had to get 2-3 hrs ready, prior to departure. So pretty much be at the airport super early. That morning I remember it was hectic literally chaotic at my house. I had pulled almost an all nighter, think I only got 3 hours of sleep that night. I was honestly so stoked and giddy like a little girl the night before Christmas anticipating to open her gifts well I was ready to leave YYC. Like the idiot I am (sometimes..) procrastinated and didn't pack till literally the last 8 hrs till I was about too leave. We were all set and ready en route to thee Airport.
Like I said it has been about 12 years since I've flown on a plane and a few months since I've been to the airport. So while en route to thee Airport seriously had no clue they made this new weird rocky road to get to the airport here in crazy YYC (plus it was a snowy foggy cold mess that morning).
Finally after a ton of light bickering between siblings aka (My mom and her Lil bro) actually to be honest it's kind of weird seeing my mama bear bickering with her younger brother (my uncle) cause I can sorta see me and my big bro doing the same thing say in the next 20-30 years from now.... weird I know)
Photo: haha notice on my brother's picture (centre pic) a brown fella at the right corner sorta peeping when I took my bro's pic behind us. Oh geez not only did he photo bomb big bro pic but he was super strange in a way. He was always starring at me when I would turn around to talk to big bro. Plus bro said the dude would not stop jerking (mini shaking) not judging but I don't think he understood English either.... Poor fella hope he got on the right plane gotta hate language barriers :p
Anyways totally got side tracked but yeah on some miracle managed to make it on time for our flight after lame security of course -.- but geez we were delayed in YYC cause again that darn snow storm came to bite me in the ace before we left. Think we were delayed about two hours. So next destination had a stopover at YYZ aka Toronto.
Photo: it's strange after all these years not flying, as a kid I always thought the plane was huge and soo big. But in the eyes of an "adult" it's strange but the Airplabe isn't really that big it's actually really small and kinda makes you feel claustrophobic well at least I felt it at times. Gah the isles are so narrow too -.- no me gusta
YYC ~ YYZ
Finally we made it to YYZ from here it became clear that it was going to be a hectic chaotic day. Due to the darn snow storm leaving YYC causing the delay we had zero time to have lunch at YYZ. We had to rush through all these silly procedures like going through customs and more extra stricter security to fly past it was no peach that's for sure. Oh plus my first memorable moment was when my cute 4" wedge heels broke like split in half while running at YYZ Pearson Airport trying to catch our damn flight to Miami. So had to throw my babies in zee garbage and luckily had the only pair of footwear I packed were my gold sandals more comfortable anyways. But still first lesson learnt don't travel in 4" heels especially if your gonna be running to catch a flight. No bueno.
After the craziness at YYZ, finally we were set and next/last destination MIA hello palm trees, sun and tan MIAMI ❤ FLORIDA thee SUNSHINE STATE
This flight definitely went a lot smoother than the first, we all got to sit together, elbow to elbow. But was super hungry missed breakfast had not time for lunch maybe had the most was an expensive Greek yogurt cup and 1/2 a croissant all day. Oh and juice in the plane, since we were heading to Miami it's East coast time so 2 hours ahead of YYC time. Totally screwed my mind even though it was only two hours.
Photo: "Ohana" hahah can't you tell by my smile how stoked and extremely happy I am?? Actually to be honest I was so tired from only 3 hours of sleep I think I was sleep smiling in these pictures if that makes any sense. >.<
Photo: Forgot to pack my neck pillow never could sleep or at least nap on the plane so took some silly pictures of the two weirdos aka my family next to me. Think I ended up watching "Breaking Dawn Part II" again and again and again -.-
Finally by 6 or 7pm or even 8pm heck I don't even know what time it was, not to complain but geez I remember feeling so drained tired exhausted and super hot cause of the layers I was wearing and the weather change. Also I was a hungry bear so hungry my stomach was growling. By the time we made it to Miami and picked up at the Airport I was just ready to crash and sleep which is exactly what I did well after eating Shrimp Alfredo thanks to my uncle who has the cutest little apartment I've been in.
Photo: oh geez funny thing about this photo is while trying to take a nice picture secretly ..... shhh ( seat belt sign was on and we were ready to land apparently all electronics must be turned off but clearly I didn't care to listen, don't follow that kiddos) on the plane, totally missed the plane-view of Downtown Miami which is all the way to the left (think I took about 11 secret shots). Was left to take a crappy picture of the flat side of Miami but was surprise!! hey it came out decent enough to instagram and put some song by Will Smith that mentioned Miami in it hahah clever ;)
As I remember that day so vividly, the rushing, hectic morning and the chaos of the afternoon I was truly blessed we made it to Miami safely and ready to begin a wonderful Spring Vacation. Looking out of my uncles apartment balcony I remember just enjoying the light breeze that hit my face and truly glad to be here in the present, in the now, in Miami. Seeing the glowing lights of this beautiful city at night just light my excitement in me for what we had planned for tomorrow. :) sleep sweet my darlings xo ~msneeannm ❤
